I loved this book just as much as the other two! These books are so full of adventure and suspense. I also absolutely love the last 20 or so pages the author includes about the folklore and research behind the events of the story. Almost all of the creatures and strange situations that arise in this book were based on stories, mythology, and long held beliefs from various cultures and religions. I highly recommend this trilogy to any fantasy fan!

I haven't read this book, but I have read the other two. My third graders LOVE the Sea of Trolls. Even the poorest of the readers with the shortest attention spans remember EVERYTHING that happens in the story. The boy -girl verbal dueling cracks them up. Thorgil is such a macho girl and Jack plays off of her so well. My students all ran out and purchased the second book and one fast reader is already on the third. We agree it would make a great movie - sort of a combination Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings, Indiana Jones movie!
